Feeling For ... Flannel

Everett Collection Gregory Peck in “The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit.”

It’s a complete cinematic clichГ©: the man in the gray flannel suit. The symbol of corporate drone. Yet the image also conjures up nostalgia for a time when men dressed appropriately for the office, in clothing that fit and, just as important, was properly fitted. Having survived yet another round of prophesies of its demise, the flannel suit seems a bit more open for personal interpretation and

  2. Hi, sorry for such a slow response. How old are your punches? Have you sharpened them lately? You just may need to sharpen them. I hope that helped if not send me another message.

  5. These guys rock! Their informative video taught me a lot (there's a dearth of basic leathercraft instructional videos online) and so I called them and spoke with Dave, who helped me for a solid hour! He was nice and friendly and we arranged a shipment over the phone.

I haven't received the product yet but the service provided was AMAZING!

  8. There are some starter kits. It depends on how much you want to invest in the kit and what you want to do. Do you want to just put together kits? Want more tools to be a little more creative? The kits range from $40-$1,000 depending on what you want in your kit. Some of the numbers are 55507-00, 55509-00, 55510-00, 4899-00, 55512-01 check some of those out.

  9. Hi, I haven't heard of a rivet gun but they do have some riveting machines which i don't believe you'll need. All you really need is a setter and anvil. Which will cost you like 6 bucks. You will punch your holes and set the rivets. Its easy to set the rivets. You just need some leather, rivets and the setting tools. That will keep your cost down for sure. I hope that helped.

  11. Question:
Are rivet guns ever used for leathercraft?

I run a dog kennel and have been thinking of making leather dog collars to order (at the correct size for the specific dog and with the material and buckle the owner selects. I'm not really sure how to get started at this - I've been selling leather collars from wholesalers for a while and have never had a problem adding more holes with a rotary hole punch, but I'm thinking that making my own could increase my margins and product quality.
